I’ve created Flippin’ on the Road to help document and share our intriguing adventure of flipping homes across the country while living and traveling in an RV.

My name is Allison, and I work in real estate. After teaching middle school math for 8 years, I left the teaching field at the end of the 2014 school year to pursue a career in real estate. By far, it’s been one of the best (and happiest) decisions I’ve made in my adult life. I hope to share posts about the learning process I am going through as a newer real estate agent as well as some of my expertise, organizational skills, and marketing hacks.

In June 2014, my boyfriend, John, and I bought a fixer-upper home, which we spent three years renovating. In June 2017, we placed our home on the market- receiving three full price offers during the first 48 hours. As we closed on our home in August, we had increased our home’s value by 79%!

For the last 12 years, John has worked as a home improvement specialist for a large corporation. He has done amazing things to our home from single-handedly building us a garage from nothing to jacking up our house to ensure that it was leveled. Everyday he astounds me with his knowledge and talent! I know there isn’t anything he cannot do and any home he cannot flip!

We look forward to sharing new journeys and experiences together. Currently, we have purchased an RV and are living on the side of a mountain in the Nantahala National Forest in North Carolina. We’ve purchased 7 acres and are building a 420 square foot tiny home.

While John is excited to build and flip homes full time, I am excited to work in various real estate markets. We also plan to invest in several vacation rentals. I’m passionate to move forward with that aspect of our journey and document the various stories, lessons, and adventures from investing and owning vacation properties.
